I have just started Homestuck and im at the part where John is on the balcony with the jester blue floaty guy, and at the bottom it says:
"WAIT. TAKE THAT. BLUE WOBBLY THING."
My brain hurts and nothing is making sense. When do those devil things come in? And is everyone stubby? Does this change??
Please, someone, explain this too me!! 
Because Homestuck is a big mess of random shit and you never actually get whats going on the first time around. Have fun. You're in to deep now there's no going back.
